Meet Our Team

Pamela Argandoña

Director, Program & Data Management

Pam brings passion, dedication and diverse skill sets to her work at Leading Indicator Systems where she oversees all aspects of assessment implementations.

She has more than 20 years of experience managing large, complex data programs for a broad and diverse set of world-class clients. Prior to joining LIS, Pam worked at The Gale Group/Thomson Learning and Xerox

She earned her MBA at Bentley University and her BS in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)

Fun Fact — Pam is an adventure travel enthusiast; she hiked Huayna Picchu, the mountain that rises over Machu Picchu


Karen Haskell

Chair and Special Advisor

Karen provides experienced counsel in her role leading the LIS Board.  In addition, she provides oversight for strategic relationships and our finance team

Karen has 25 years of experience in the corporate training and education field, including as a founder of Spectrum Training Corporation

She received her BA from Northeastern University and a Masters of Education from Columbia University

Fun Fact — Karen founded restaurants, including Rialto and blu, with celebrated chefs Jody Adams and Michela Larson


Carl Nergararian

Vice President, Software Engineering & Support

Carl oversees all software development and technology infrastructure.

Carl has worked at Leading Indicator Systems since 2003 and previously in factory automation leadership roles at Intel and Digital Equipment Corporation

Carl received both his BS and MS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Fun Fact — Carl raised Christmas trees on a farm in Northern Vermont


Bill Nolen

Chief Scientist

Bill overseas all assessment design and development activities at Leading Indicator Systems

Bill was a founding partner of LIS and previously worked with Apogee Development and Spectrum Training developing a range of testing and product support materials. He loves to talk about his work on the original Apple Macintosh

Bill received all three degrees from Boston University, including his doctorate in Psychometrics. He also taught at BU in the Arts & Sciences, Education and Sargent College and the Psychology Department at Brandeis University

Fun Fact — Bill and Claudia have an acre fenced-in yard for their much-loved rescue dogs


John Penrose

CEO, President & Director

John runs operations at LIS with specific focus on corporate strategy, channel development and client service

John has over 30 years work experience, including in corporate finance at Citibank, consulting with Deloitte and executive management at the DeWolfe Companies

John received his BA from Dartmouth College, his MBA from Wharton, and an MA in International Studies at Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania

Fun Fact — Early each Spring John disappears for a week of sugaring on his family farm in New Hampshire
